The Self on the D-floor
'The self on the D-floor' is an investigation into the mental states of individuals in their early twenties. This series of oil paintings plays with the notion of isolation within a social space. I have used the setting of a nightclub to frame this relationship, using found images from social media of club photography in Perth. I find getting my source material in this way reflects the extensive use of social media in, and interconnectedness of, contemporary youth.
